হাইকোর্টের নির্দেশ অমান্য করে জনপ্রিয় বাংলা নিউজ চ্যানেলের কণ্ঠরোধের চেষ্টা কেন্দ্রের

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে খবর করার ফল হিসেবে বাংলা নিউজ চ্যানেল কলকাতা টিভি’র লাইসেন্স রিনিউ না করার হুঁশিয়ারি দিল কেন্দ্রীয় তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রক।

গত ১৬ আগস্ট কলকাতা টিভি’র দপ্তরে আয়কর দপ্তরের আধিকারিকরা প্রায় ৮০ ঘণ্টা তল্লাশি চালায়। হেনস্তা করা হয় সাংবাদিক এবং অন্যান্য কর্মীদের, বাধা দেওয়া হয় খবর সম্প্রচারেও। তল্লাশি চালানো হয় কলকাতা টিভির সম্পাদক কৌস্তুভ রায়ের এবং মুখ্য সঞ্চালিকা সুচন্দ্রিমা পালের বাড়িতেও। স্বাভাবিকভাবেই চারদিন ধরে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে আপত্তিজনক কিছুই পায়নি আয়কর দপ্তরের আধিকারিকরা।

এ ব্যাপারে অতিসম্প্রতি কলকাতা হাইকোর্ট একটি রায় দিয়েছিল। সেই রায়ে পরিষ্কার বলা আছে, “The writ petitioner has sought for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to withdraw the show-cause notice dated September 27, 2021 (Annexure P1) and further writ in the nature of prohibition prohibiting the respondents, their men, agents, officers or anybody acting thereunder from taking any steps or further steps for cancellation of license of the television channel “Kolkata TV” in the name of the petitioner no. 1 and corollary prayer has been made for an interim order staying the operation of the show-cause notice dated September 27, 2021 as in Annexure P8 thereto and further restraining the respondents, their men, agents, servants, officers, employees or anybody acting thereunder from taking any steps or coercive measures including suspension of e broadcast of the television channel in respect of airing of Bengali news television channel named “Kolkata TV” till disposal of this writ application”

অর্থাৎ, ২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২১ এর শো কজ নোটিস তুলে নিতে বলে মামলাকরীদের বলা হয়েছে কোনও ভাবেই চ্যানেলের লাইসেন্স বাতিল করা যাবে না।

এবার কলকাতা হাইকোর্টের দেওয়া সেই রায় অমান্য করেই কেন্দ্রীয় তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রক নির্দেশিকা জারি করে বলেছে, কলকাতা টিভি চ্যানেল বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হবে, কারণ, তাঁদের সিকিওরিটি ক্লিয়ারেন্স নেই।

স্বাভাবিকভাবেই প্রশ্ন উঠছে, তাহলে কি মোদী সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে খবর করার জন্যই কি কলকাতা টিভির কণ্ঠরোধের এই নতুন প্রচেষ্টা? বিশেষজ্ঞরা মনে করছেন সাংবাদিকতার স্বাধীনতায় জোড় আঘাত করার চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার।
